Eternity
smiles upon us all. There is no escape from eternity. After you die you
will either cease to exist *forever,* or you will continue to exist
*forever.* If the former is true, then it is probably the case that
nothing you do matters. If the latter is true, then it is probably the
case that everything you do matters (or almost everything). This is not a
truth that is very hard to discover. But many avoid contemplating the
consequence of this truth for their whole Earthly lives. (Of course, I am assuming that gappy human existence is impossible or negligibly probable).
